Requirements
  • Experience to design, engineer and operate strategies of data protection and recovery vault in a large enterprise with petabytes of data across infrastructure landscape involving multiple technology products in multiple data centres and AWS, Azure Cloud Services.
  • Experience in backup and recovery of virtualised workloads, multiple clients, database agents with demonstrable experience and solution approaches
  • Experience in development and infrastructure engineering with hands on experience of coding for cloud-based technologies (Python, Terraform, Unix preferred)
  • Experience with NetBackup domain with GUI and command line utilities for administration, operation, and reporting.
  • Experience with the design and administration of EMC Data Domain solutions using GUI and CLI
  • Experience with Storage Lifecycle Policies, AIR, OST, Cloud, Tape/VTL, Certificates, and OpsCenter.
  • Experience and knowledge of SAN, NAS, Object store platforms (VMAX, XIO, Brocade, NetApp, Isilon, ECS) and AWS, Azure Storage & Backup Solutions.
  • Experience and knowledge of chaos and resilience testing tools & techniques.
  • A keen evangelist with interests in technology, security, cloud native application development.
Responsibilities
  • Implement, manage, and improve the technology operational resilience procedures, data & tooling across all critical or important business services (“CIBS”), ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaising across the Infrastructure, Application, Data and Domain Architecture functions to discuss and agree patterns and design approaches for backup-recovery and resilience testing strategies & tools for scale, time and minimum data loss.
  • Delivering secure, automated, self-serviced, innovative & cost-efficient cyber vault-recovery and resilient testing solutions for on-premises, cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, M365 or SaaS services.
  • Deliver approaches to plan and govern restoration of data and recovery testing of services.
  • Maintain and operate the service, identify areas of improvement and changes to continuously improve and prove the solutions can deliver the desired objectives in an efficient manner.
  • Enable customers to understand & use the services in the most effective way to realise business benefit quickly using all means possible supported through a global operating engineering product model.
  • Actively collaborate with other team members through pairing, encouraging an open collaborative working culture within & outside the team.
  • Understand and produce and maintain key metrics and dashboards to provide insights into the health and performance of our operational resilience initiatives.
