Ability to analyse production data to identify improvement opportunities, maintaining processes in control, prioritise and complete activities to ensure business quality and delivery targets are realised, improve production efficiency and reduce cost.
Support product or process changes to improve system performance to better meet customer or other user needs.
Provide technical product and process input to new programmes, utilising APQP techniques and tools to support PPAP submission.
Bring together the engineering justification for product integrity investigations internally, and communicate with both suppliers and customers.
Select and use appropriate procedures, equipment, and standards to produce required data and assist with interpretation.
Specify new test equipment capable of meeting all servo valve applications from customer specifications.
Work closely with the sustainment test equipment team to isolate testing issues whether it be within software, electronics, hydraulics or product.
GD&T analysis of assemblies and components to support acceptance of non-conforming parts.
Ability to travel, both in the UK and internationally as required.
Key Skills and experience:
A qualification within a relevant engineering discipline such as a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), although we will consider applications from individuals with a lower qualification if they can demonstrate substantial relevant experience in a previous role.
A professional with a minimum of 5 years relevant Aerospace engineering experience with a thorough knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic principles and preferably with design and project management skills.
PFMEA, Control Plans & Process Flow Diagrams creation and updates through the product life cycle.
Experience in developing Assembly and Test processes & procedures, including tooling concept designs, flow line and single piece A&T concepts.
Proficient and confident presenter able to communicate well across all organisational levels.
Experience in PFMEA, Control Plans & Process Flow Diagrams creation and updates through the product life cycle.
Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Requirements management, validation & verification performance specifications & testing experience (comparison testing).
Obsolescence management experience associated predominantly with piece parts (elastomers, metallurgy & chemicals, i.e. Loctites, resins, potting compounds etc).
Contributes to design standards and specifications.
May assist with evaluating sources of materials, obsolescence and coordinating with suppliers to ensure materials meet specifications and appropriate quality and safety standards.
Support automation and digital thread projects.
Support with design concepts of specialised tooling for test rigs & assembly.
Six Sigma trained or equivalent and have the ability to analyse data using tools such as Minitab.
Ability to work collaboratively but also self-motivated to own and deliver objectives independently.
