Requirements
  • Proven experience operating a variety of welding equipment and performing welding processes, including tungsten inert gas, metal inert gas, shielded metal arc welding/manual metal arc welding, and other applicable methods.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Experience using electrical and manual fabrication tools, including grinders, saws, squares, calipers, and measuring devices.
  • Working knowledge of welding techniques, metal properties, and fabrication practices.
  • Understanding of workplace safety requirements and proper use of personal protective equipment, including welding helmets, face shields, gloves, and protective clothing.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing or construction setting.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, kneel, lift materials, and perform welding activities for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely around welding equipment and fabrication machinery.
Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements and plan work activities.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare materials according to project specifications and welding procedures.
  • Select welding equipment, processes, and materials based on job requirements.
  • Set up and align components for welding, ensuring proper fit, positioning, and dimensional accuracy.
  • Operate angle grinders and other fabrication tools to prepare surfaces, remove imperfections, and finish welded products.
  • Perform welding using manual and semi-automatic equipment in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Inspect completed welds for compliance with quality standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
  • Follow company safety policies, procedures, and applicable industry standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, fabricators, and team members to meet production schedules and quality objectives.
  • Maintain a safe, productive, and professional work environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Welding certification from AWS or another recognized organization.
  • Previous experience in structural steel, industrial, manufacturing, utility, or construction environments.
  • Experience with welding inspections and quality control procedures.
