Requirements
  • A college degree in a science-related field: Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, or Physical Sciences, etc., or college science classes with working laboratory experience will be considered.
  • General knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Work activities are well-defined with clearly stated directions and guidelines to follow. Most work steps are clearly prescribed and cannot be modified. Many work duties require repetitive operations.
Responsibilities
  • Perform one to several procedures and work instructions of chemical, microbiological, and quality system analyses in an accredited food safety laboratory.
  • Maintain complete records for process control and comply with policies, quality systems, and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate and maintain proficiency testing qualifications.
  • Work both independently and as part of the team.
  • Resolve routine problems, plan work tasks, operate, troubleshoot, and perform basic service and maintenance on instruments and equipment.
  • Exhibit growth after training, plus other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • 1st preference is given to applicants with a degree; 2nd preference is to applicants with education and experience in relation to Chemistry and or Microbiology.
