Requirements
  • Knowledge of the errors and omissions market, with an emphasis on Architects and Engineers underwriting.
  • Knowledge of errors and omissions underwriting practices, coverage, and pricing/rating methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the producer and competitor marketplace.
  • Knowledge of insurance company operations.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of underwriting experience, including errors and omissions underwriting with an emphasis on Architects and Engineers or Contractor Professional Liability underwriting.
Responsibilities
  • Manage, examine, and analyze broker-submitted applications to determine whether risks fall within the targeted class of business and establish appropriate limits, pricing, and terms that support adequate underwriting profit.
  • Execute errors and omissions business plans and objectives.
  • Build the company's reputation and presence in the errors and omissions market.
  • Provide prompt and accurate customer service on policy transactions.
  • Ensure considered and bound risks comply with delegated authority, underwriting standards, risk selection, peer review, and pricing methodologies.
  • Document underwriting activities and decisions in files as required.
  • Support company and department goals and objectives.
  • Build relationships with brokers.
  • Perform other duties reasonably required by the company.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with internal policies and procedures, applicable law, rules, regulations, good governance, and company values.

Jeff Consolino named Core Specialty chairman as Ed Noonan steps down after six years

Core Specialty Insurance Holdings has announced changes to its Board of Directors. Ed Noonan has stepped down as Executive Chairman after serving since the company's 2020 recapitalisation. Jeff Consolino, the company's founder, president and CEO, has assumed the role of Executive Chairman effective immediately. The company has also appointed Bart van der Vlugt to its Board of Directors. Van der Vlugt is a principal at Sixth Street, which he joined in 2021, where he focuses on insurance sector investments including Sixth Street's partnership with Enstar Group Limited.
