Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business, Economics, Finance, or another related area is required.
  • Two to four years of commodity trading experience is required.
  • The candidate must have the ability to motivate staff and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand commodity markets, including futures and cash markets, is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand grain flows, freight markets, and market opportunities is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally manage customer relationships is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, support, and help foster safety culture and best practices throughout the organization.
  • Maximize trading in assigned commodities within an assigned territory to produce superior profits for CSC.
  • Maintain knowledge of market factors that produce price movements.
  • Communicate important market information and activity to other traders and management.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of trading rules and regulations and follow them without exception.
  • Operate within the policies, procedures, and position limits established by management, and accurately report all positions and trading results through established mechanisms.
  • Arrange cost-effective and efficient transportation of commodities.
  • Maintain CSC's reputation through careful and honest handling of customer and supplier relationships.
  • Supervise support staff and ensure proper execution of all contracts.
