Requirements
  • Hands-on experience configuring, developing, and supporting solutions within Technolutions Slate, preferably Slate Student Success.
  • Experience building and maintaining workflows, forms, communications, portals, automations, rules, queries, and other platform-based solutions.
  • Experience serving as a technical administrator, engineer, developer, or solution architect for a Slate environment.
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting, documenting, deploying, and supporting technical solutions throughout their lifecycle.
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the systems development lifecycle and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Skill in software integration.
  • Skill in advising groups on systems, networks, software, applications, and security issues.
  • Ability to design, document, test, create, or modify computer programs.
  • Ability to apply systems analysis techniques and procedures.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical lead for Student Affairs' Slate Student Success implementation.
  • Design, configure, test, document, deploy, maintain, and enhance technical solutions within the Slate platform.
  • Build and maintain Slate-based workflows, forms, portals, communications, automations, rules, queries, and related platform solutions.
  • Translate functional needs into technical designs that balance immediate priorities with long-term sustainability.
  • Test and troubleshoot Slate solutions to ensure they are launch-ready, reliable, and aligned with divisional and university requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation, standards, and repeatable processes so solutions can be supported beyond initial implementation.
  • Support implemented services across their lifecycle, including monitoring, issue resolution, enhancements, and refinements as needs evolve.
  • Partner with Student Affairs stakeholders, RIT Information Technology Services, and vendors on integrations, infrastructure needs, system improvements, and technical problem-solving.
  • Represent Student Affairs in cross-functional technology conversations related to Slate Student Success and related systems.
  • Communicate technical concepts in clear, accessible language for diverse audiences.
  • Support technology solutions with attention to data integrity, information security, accessibility, and inclusive user experiences.
  • Create, test, document, deploy, and support software applications for multiple products and platforms.
  • Support software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.
  • Perform coding, debugging, unit testing, troubleshooting, and modification of product software.
  • Participate in efforts to identify and implement best practices and data standards for the division.
  • Ensure that services are supported, monitored, and maintained throughout the lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain documentation for supported services.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and partner with other teams and vendors to implement improvements.

  • Experience in higher education, student affairs, student success, or similarly complex service-oriented environments.
  • Knowledge of accessibility-centered practices, inclusive technologies, Lean Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to partner effectively with functional stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors.

Kanvas Biosciences raises $48M Series A for microbiome cancer therapeutics

Kanvas Biosciences has raised $48 million in a Series A round co-led by DCVC and Lions Capital, bringing total funding to $78 million. Gates Foundation, ATHOS KG, Germin8, Ki Tua Fund and Pangaea Ventures also participated. The spatial biology company will use the funds to conduct clinical trials for KAN-001, its lead immuno-oncology drug candidate designed to improve immunotherapy efficacy in solid organ cancer patients. The live biotherapeutic product addresses limitations of fecal microbiota transplants by offering safer, more scalable treatment for patients who don't respond to immune checkpoint inhibitors. Kanvas has developed a platform that spatially maps microbial and host cells, enabling manufacture of complex microbial consortia to restore microbiome health. The company recently opened a GMP manufacturing suite and is preparing to recruit patients for a Phase 1 trial.

CisLunar Industries raises $2.6M to expand power electronics for space economy

CisLunar Industries has raised $2.6 million in an oversubscribed seed round led by Colorado ONE Fund, with participation from Stout Street Capital, RIT Venture Fund, Deming Center Venture Fund and strategic angel investors. Founded in 2019, the Loveland, Colorado-based company develops power electronics for space applications through its Electric Power Intelligent Conversion product line. The technology reduces lead times and engineering costs whilst increasing efficiency for spacecraft systems including electric propulsion, directed energy and nuclear power applications. CisLunar Industries' customers include NASA, United States Space Force, three defence contractors and ThinkOrbital. The funding will support continued development and expanded production of its power conversion systems for Earth orbit and beyond.
