Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing, or a Master of Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • At least three years of related clinical nursing experience.
  • Strong clinical judgment and care coordination skills.
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems.
  • Knowledge of oncology pathways, complex medical terminology, and advanced disease processes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide patient-centered, culturally competent care.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to delegate to appropriate personnel; establish and maintain collaborative internal and external relationships; rapidly prioritize and reprioritize; work autonomously and in teams; think critically; and multitask.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Ability to perform the listed physical functions, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and maintaining required vision, hearing, sensory, and motor capabilities.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, work rotating shifts, work overtime as required, and work in a latex-safe environment.
Responsibilities
  • Navigate patients through diagnostic resolution and transition to specialty care as needed.
  • Apply evidence-based guidelines and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Coordinate consistent care across the continuum.
  • Improve timely access to specialty oncology care.
  • Reduce friction at high-risk transition points.
  • Optimize capacity, scheduling accuracy, and throughput.
  • Advance standardization, equity, and patient-centered access.
  • Improve patient and provider satisfaction around oncology access.
  • Provide individualized support to patients and caregivers to overcome healthcare system barriers.
  • Promote informed decision-making and timely access to quality patient care using the nursing process.
  • Serve as a communication link among multidisciplinary internal and external providers during initial treatment planning.
