Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or other applied sciences is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and apply robotics, autonomy, or machine learning algorithms is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and test data processing algorithms is required.
  • Demonstrated ability using object-oriented programming languages is required.
  • Demonstrated ability with analysis software packages such as Matlab or Python and general programming languages such as C/C++ or Python is required.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems is required.
  • The applicant must be highly organized, have attention to detail, and possess sound scientific judgment.
  • The position requires effective personal time management and the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Regular and punctual attendance in the workplace is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The applicant must be eligible to access classified information at the level appropriate to the project's requirements.
  • A criminal history background check is required for finalists.
  • Possible interstate and intrastate travel is required.
Responsibilities
  • Identify, research, and develop autonomy algorithms that use sonar data in complex environments to avoid obstacles, support multi-agent decision making, and dynamically replan current tasking and sorties.
  • Design target recognition algorithms for finding objects in the environment and increasing situational awareness.
  • Conduct data analysis across a range of acoustic systems, identifying anomalies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct local in-water testing of generated algorithms, behaviors, and capabilities.
  • Aid field tests for algorithms in ocean, littoral, harbor, and riverine environments.
  • Document work for knowledge transfer, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Travel in support of data collection, system evaluation testing, and project meetings.
  • Perform other related functions as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree in Engineering, Math, or Applied Sciences with emphasis in autonomous vehicles, robotics, learning systems, or data analysis.
  • Related experience.
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0.
