Requirements
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to operate kitchen equipment including an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef's knives.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, pull, and lift items weighing 40 pounds or less.
  • Must have manual dexterity and auditory and visual skills.
  • Must adhere to food safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform, and productivity standards.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and catered events.
  • Inspect and clean food preparation, equipment, work, and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Regulate ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and other equipment to ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature.
  • Check food and ingredient quality, track old and new items, rotate stock, and follow labeling and dating procedures.
  • Monitor, cook, and prepare foods to determine whether they have been cooked sufficiently using tasting, smelling, and food thermometers.
  • Prepare cooking stations according to company guidelines and supervisor direction.
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
  • Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables for consumption.
  • Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for hot or cold service.
  • Bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries as needed.
  • Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment as needed.
  • Compile and maintain records of food usage.
  • Assist with inventory and forecast preparation needs.
  • Follow food specification amounts provided by the supervisor.
  • Prepare and serve food to customers in a timely manner.
  • Support culinary staff at various stations as directed.
  • Communicate kitchen equipment and supply needs to the supervisor.
  • Promote company standards for safety, proper food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity.
  • Provide attentive and approachable customer service, including greeting and thanking customers.
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
