Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program.
  • Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowship.
  • Board eligibility or board certification in Cardiovascular Disease.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure.
  • DEA registration or eligibility.
  • Expertise in non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostics and medical management.
  • Ability to manage complex and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities.
  • Commitment to evidence-based, high-quality patient care.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinic and hospital environments.
  • Manual dexterity for examinations and diagnostic testing.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for interpretation of diagnostic studies.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage patients with cardiovascular conditions including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and lipid disorders.
  • Provide outpatient cardiology clinic care and inpatient consultation services as needed.
  • Perform and interpret non-invasive cardiac diagnostic studies such as transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, exercise and pharmacologic stress testing, ambulatory rhythm monitoring, and cardiac imaging as applicable.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Manage cardiovascular medications and monitor treatment effectiveness and safety.
  • Participate in preventive cardiology and cardiovascular risk-reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, primary care, and other specialists.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, lifestyle modification, and disease prevention.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives.
  • Supervise and educate residents, fellows, or advanced practice providers as applicable.
  • Comply with regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards.
  • Provide call coverage as determined by practice or service needs.
