Overview: Capital Planning includes multi-year model driven forecasting and reporting of key financial statements including Income, Balance Sheet, and Regulatory Capital. Financials forecasting is performed under a range of economic scenarios and assumptions and is performed on a quarterly basis for regulatory requirements (CCAR - Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review) and internal business management (QMMF - Quarterly Multi-year Multi-scenario Forecasting). The role provides technology supports for three elements of CCAR/QMMF. This is an extremely Hands-on role and strong programming background with financial models and data tooling is a must-have.
Aggregation: A central aggregation and reporting engine is used for the collation of key financial forecasting results. The IT application is designed to align to business-as-usual reporting taxonomies across the firm, while also supporting the specific needs for CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review) and QMMF (quarterly multi-year multi-scenario forecasting). This includes aligning to regulatory reporting taxonomies, reporting for internal management review, governance in execution cycles. The role will provide ongoing support for this technology application.
Capital Forecasting: Specific financial forecasting is performed for Capital Forecasting, resulting in forecasted Capital Ratios (per CCAR requirements) and additional reporting of underlying Capital composition and Capital constraints. Forecasting methodologies are based on Basel rules for Regulatory Capital and CCAR regulatory guidance. Calculations are being strategically implemented in an IT application to allow for an efficient, controlled, and repeatable execution of the process. The role will provide ongoing support for this technology functionality.
Assumptions Management: For CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review) and QMMF (quarterly multi-year multi-scenario forecasting) financial forecasting, regulatory guidance SR 15-18 requires the quantitative evaluation of model uncertainty. A subcomponent is the analysis of model uncertainty driven by business assumptions within models. The approach of the analysis is to centrally collate an inventory of all key business assumption and calculate estimated impacts of the uncertainty range on the final forecasted Capital Ratios. A strategic IT solution is being implemented for the performance of this process and calculations, to allow for an efficient, controlled, and repeatable execution. The role will provide ongoing support for this technology functionality.
