Senior Devops Engineer @ Parallel Systems

Parallel is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to help build and maintain a secure and highly available operating infrastructure for our autonomous rail vehicles. This role will work closely with our software engineers to develop scalable solutions for IAM, network provisioning, and CI/CD pipelines for service deployment to control our fleet of vehicles. In this role you will outsized impact developing our core production infrastructure.

As an early employee at a fast-moving startup you will work on a multitude of technical projects and shape the direction of the company.

Responsibilities

Develop a standard, secure cloud configurations for production services
Lead efforts to deploy zero-trust security model across fleet of services
Roll out least-privilege access model across core cloud infrastructure
Assist software team in creation of Devops tooling for CI/CD and production monitoring
Consult with the software team to implement technical controls for SOC2 and ISO27001 compliance

Requirements

BS in Network Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields
Experience supporting internet accessible software applications
5+ years of experience writing software in languages such as Python, Golang, or Rust
3+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or equivalent cloud infrastructure
3+ years of experience deploying services with CI/CD platforms from Github, AWS, or Google Cloud
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform or AWS Cloud formation

Preferred

AWS or Google Cloud Certified architect certification or similar
Experience with information security practices and procedures
Experience deploying applications using containerization technology such as Docker and Kubernetes
Solid understanding of VPCs, Load Balancers, and VPNs in AWS or Google Cloud
Experience with the SOC 2 compliance or other security certification programs
