  • 8+ years of EHS experience; Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical GMP environment experience preferred.
  • Experienced in all EHS disciplines.
  • Demonstrated application/interpretation of OSHA and EPA compliance regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal & presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Occupational Safety or similar, Master’s Preferred.
  • CSP, CIH or interest in acquiring such certification.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as needed to support critical issues in a 24X7 environment.
  • Ability to travel, if needed.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Own the development, implementation and management of safety programs for the site.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in EHS compliance and safety practices.
  • Create, refine, and deliver training in applicable EHS areas.
  • Support site safety and culture committees.
  • Perform regular area walkthroughs and inspections to verify compliance.
  • Manage site risk assessment program.
  • Ensure compliance and tracking of site environmental control and permitting programs.
  • Ensure compliance with wastewater permit requirements.
  • Conduct incident investigations to identify causal factors and corrective/preventative actions.
  • Oversee site occupational health program, including medical screenings, vaccination recordkeeping, flu vaccine clinics, and pandemic response.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience with managing physical safety programs (Working at Heights, Lockout/Tagout, Contractor Safety, Electrical Safety, etc.) preferred.
  • Risk Assessment, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Hazard & Operability (HAZOP) procedures experience preferred.
  • Incident Command, HAZWOPER, CPR, First Aid certifications/experience preferred.
  • Membership in local, national or similar professional organizations preferred.
