Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a technical designer, with a focus on knitwear, particularly sweaters.
  • Strong knowledge of sweater construction, knitting techniques, yarn properties, and garment fit.
  • Proficiency in creating and updating technical packages and using design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • The ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively to internal teams and external manufacturers.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Create and review detailed technical packages for sweater designs, including specifications for yarn, stitch, construction, measurements, and finishing techniques.
  • Conduct fit sessions, analyze garment samples, and provide actionable feedback to ensure proper fit and construction, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with domestic and international manufacturers to address technical issues, clarify design intent, and ensure accurate sample production.
  • Review and approve pre-production and production samples for consistency in fit, construction, and quality.
  • Use knowledge of yarns, knitting machines, and knitting techniques to optimize production and achieve desired design outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during production with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective solutions.
  • Work with the design team to ensure the final product aligns with the creative vision while meeting technical and production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical specifications, fit comments, and revisions throughout development and production.
