The Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Analytics Engineer with a focus on customer satisfaction to join our team. You will collaborate with business leaders across the organization to ensure they have access to high-quality data for their decision-making. Using your technical skills and understanding of business needs, you will translate data needs into well-defined projects that leverage our data warehouse and business intelligence tools. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic partner rather than just fulfilling requests, and will help us continuously improve our data utilization practices at Splice.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand business priorities and develop models that support critical decision-making
• Create efficient data models from new data sources while balancing cost, performance, and maintainability
• Manage the ETL provider, including adding new connectors, cost management, and working with customer service to troubleshoot quality issues
• Continuously enhance the design of the data warehouse to serve both business intelligence and data science needs
• Optimize existing models for improved cost and time performance, taking into account the data access patterns exposed through BI tooling Identify tables that would benefit from being incrementally built and evaluate the maintenance tradeoff
• Monitor data quality, write tests and documentation while developing new models
• Perform ad hoc analysis when necessary and work with the business intelligence lead to enhance self-service capabilities

What we’re looking for:

• Extensive experience writing analytical SQL that is both efficient and sustainable
• Experience working closely with business leaders and being a strategic partner in using data for decision-making
• Solid understanding of subscription businesses and financial data
• Proven experience working with hundreds of tables and billions of records in a cloud data warehouse, ideally BigQuery or Snowflake
• Experience creating reports and dashboards, both using business intelligence tooling and coding when necessary
• Experience building and evolving data models to support a changing business over a multi-year timeline
• Programming experience in general, preferably in Python or Scala, and familiarity with software development best practices such as version control and testing

Nice to haves:

• Familiarity with Looker and LookML.

In accordance with New York law, the salary range for this role if filled within New York is $175,000 - $200,000. The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
