Requirements
  • The candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno.
  • The candidate must maintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 7 credits.
  • The candidate must follow the ASUN Governing Documents and uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct.
  • The candidate must meet deadlines, attend required meetings and training, work scheduled hours, complete and submit human resources paperwork on time, and conduct themselves ethically with a high level of integrity.
  • The application must include a resume or curriculum vitae, cover letter, portfolio, and contact information for two professional references.
  • The selected candidate must complete a background check.
Responsibilities
  • Plan all Department events and initiatives.
  • Attend scheduled Department of Event Programming meetings unless excused in advance by the presiding officer.
  • Mentor and educate assigned Event Programming interns.
  • Serve as a liaison to other ASUN departments and assist with Event Programming inquiries.
  • Use data provided by the Assistant Director to guide planning of future programs.
  • Attend ASUN retreats and trainings as determined by the Director of Programming and the Director of Executive Outreach.
  • Upload all relevant documents to NevadaBox within two weeks of each event.
  • Perform other duties as called upon by the position.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience planning, coordinating, or marketing events through coursework, previous work experience, or extracurricular activities.
  • Creativity to conceptualize, articulate, and execute event ideas appealing to a diverse student body.
  • Willingness to learn marketing strategies and collaborate to attract participants to events.
  • Commitment to inclusion and accessibility in event programming so events reflect diverse perspectives, cultures, and interests.
  • Interest in student engagement and enhancing the student experience through engaging events.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a team environment.
  • Willingness to mentor an intern during the fall and spring semesters.
