VML Luxembourg is one of the leading Amazon consulting agencies in Europe. The opportunity:
We are looking for a Back-end developer to join our consulting team, working on the Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) business. As a Back-end developer on the team, you are passionate about turning data into insight, and insight into recommended actions and strategies for our customers.
You will be responsible for partnering with business and consulting teams in understanding clients’ questions and objectives to form a data analysis plan, create/execute queries, and build reporting. You work closely with these teams, providing guidance on interpreting data within their analysis and building self-service tools that best leverage the data available. You will act as a subject matter expert on both the data and reporting available.
What you’ll be doing:
- Mainly work on the back-end, including connection to e-retail platform APIs, our machine learning and data pipeline, and Rest API for our UI - you may as well occasionally contribute to Front-End development,
- work closely with Product Management to gather requirements, write a significant amount of code,
- participate in architectural discussions for new and existing components,
- be responsible for deployment, testing and maintenance.
What we want from you:
- MS in Software Engineering or related field
- 3–4-year experience in back-end Software development, including hands-on Python experience.
- strong knowledge on our back-end technologies (Java, Python, Javascript, Docker, AWS, etc.), Java and Python are a must.
- Excellent oral and written communication in English, any further language is a plus
- Product minded: committed to building the best customer experience
- Strong commitment to quality designs
- Automated testing
