Cloud Devops Engineer @ Actian

The Role:

The Cloud DevOps Engineer will be part of a fast-paced and highly motivated team responsible for supporting Actian’s Data Platform.

You will be collaborating across teams to build and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (IAC) and assisting developers in building and deploying microservices on Kubernetes clusters across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and support cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code across AWS, GCP and Azure
Assist with version maintenance tasks such as upgrading Kubernetes clusters and other third party services
Assist with building, deploying and promoting services across our Data Platform
Identify use-cases and develop further automation for better efficiency and productivity
Continuously works to maintain and/or improve the security of Actian’s environments and customer data
Contribute to building and publishing docker images and helm charts
Assist with vulnerability detection and remediation

Desirable Skills:

Exposure to at least one of the following CSPs: AWS, GCP, Azure
Familiarity with Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS)
Familiarity with building and deploying containers
Knowledge of Unix concepts, command-line tools and scripting
Familiarity of the software development lifecycle

Qualifications:

Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Harness
Familiarity with IAC tools such as Terraform, Crossplane
Helm/Kustomize
Deploying Stateful workloads on Kubernetes
Familiarity with GitOps deployment methodology and tooling (ArgoCD, Flux)
Familiarity with secret management tools
Istio Service Mesh
Familiarity with REST APIs
Experience with distributed microservices & messaging brokers

Additional Qualifications:

2-5+ years of industry experience as a DevOps Engineer with cloud exposure
Proficient with the English language and having excellent written and verbal communication skills
Competent documentation skills, preferably using Markdown or Confluence
Ability to collaborate effectively within and across teams
Familiarity with Agile software development principles, including Scrum and Kanban
Source code management (SCM), preferably in Git
