Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–2 years of experience in Central Office or plant operations
  • Understanding of electrical principles (AC/DC, voltage, current, resistance, Ohm’s Law)
  • Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using mechanical and electrical tools
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including on-call, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
  • Install, test, and maintain DC power systems (rectifiers, batteries, distribution panels)
  • Perform preventative maintenance on battery plants, UPS systems, and related equipment
  • Conduct load testing, inspections, and system audits
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with DC power systems
  • Respond to outages and alarms to restore services quickly and safely
  • Interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential risks
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
  • Support facility systems including HVAC, alarms, lighting, and fire suppression
  • Utilize portable and towable generators during emergency situations
  • Perform routine building maintenance across all locations
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for offices, central offices, and DLC cabinets
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed
Desired Qualifications
  • Specialized training in electronics, DC power, or HVAC preferred
  • Experience with telecommunications or Central Office equipment preferred
