Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
  • Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information
  • Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate to be received within 90 days
  • Prior working experience in a medical office/clinic performing clinical MA duties
  • Certified MA from the National Health Career Association (NHA)
  • Completed any MA education program, but has not received certification as of yet
Responsibilities
  • Check in patients
  • Obtain vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, temperature)
  • Medication reconciliation
  • Collect patient medical history information
  • Expedite patient flow
  • Room patients
  • Stock clinic with supplies
  • Navigate electronic health record system (EPIC)
  • Schedule and follow-up with appointments
  • Assist with medication fill and refill requests
  • Check for prior authorizations
  • Schedule tests, procedures, and consultations
  • Perform procedures such as EKG, phlebotomy, lab tests, and injections (once competency has been assessed)
  • Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients, and physicians in a respectful manner

Sellersburg, Indiana — According to state and local development sources, Baptist Health plans to invest $40,000,000.00 to build out new space in Sellersburg. The company plans to occupy the new space in Sellersburg, on or about October 1, 2026.
