- Demonstrated strategic impact at a leadership level, including interacting with other leaders and applying strong judgment and analysis toward important business decisions and strategic opportunities
- Experience building and leading expert data science teams comprising both managers and individual contributors and are adept at figuring out ways to help them flourish
- Skilled at operating in a cross-functional organization where your teams must collaborate and integrate with other teams across many disciplines
- Ideally, you possess a Masters or PhD in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, etc
- High growth company experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- You will partner with Covera's Technology Organization's leadership team to represent data science, initiate and debate key strategic topics and opportunities from your team's work, and drive bold, high-impact decisions
- You will identify and prioritize the strategic agenda for your department in a way accretive to the overall organizational goals, vision and product strategy
- You will develop a delivery strategy based on the portfolio roadmap which will include establishing key milestones and deliverables for data science
- You will grow the business analytics team to drive deliverables that will enable business decisions
- You will ensure the delivery of high-quality data science outputs which may vary broadly in nature from foundational research resulting in peer reviewed articles and white papers, to analytics products and ROI analyses, to internal business analytics tools
- You will grow and expand the data science team focused on forward-pushing skills that span from experimentation to machine learning models
- You think deeply about building effective data science organizations that align company goals
- You will lead in recruiting and hiring key positions
- You will establish relationships with other executives to drive outcomes
Desired Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in leading mid to large data science organizations, preferably with experience in the healthcare industry. Specific knowledge of claims data is a plus
