Requirements
- Proven history of success in solicitation of in-kind donations
- Prior experience in the non-profit sector and using a donor/customer tracking system is preferred
- Ability to work effectively and sensitively with people of diverse cultural and religious background
- Relational skills, interact well with participants, volunteers, and team members, creating a welcoming and interactive space for all involved
- Strong relationship management, sales, and negotiation skills
- Good communication, customer service and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail with record keeping
- Experience working in multicultural settings required
- Ability to multi-task, improvise, schedule and adapt along with changing circumstances
- Self-motivated worker with the ability to demonstrate initiative and work well as part of a team
- Flexibility in schedule and ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks
- Intermediate computer knowledge, including MS Office and the ability to learn new programs (previous experience with databases desired)
- Proficiency in one or more common participant languages is highly desirable
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-2 years prior experience with in-kind and donation solicitation; or experience in fundraising, development, or sales
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Current driver's license, and clean driving record required
- Authorization to legally work in the US
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations
- The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-15 pounds
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information
- The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
Responsibilities
- Assist with the solicitation and general management of all in-kind donations
- Solicit donations from corporations, foundations, community and church partners
- Work with leadership and development team to identify program needs and focus on in-kind funding opportunities to address those priority needs
- Field inquiries from the public regarding potential in-kind donations
- Schedule donation pickups and drop-offs
- As donation pickups and drop-offs are coordinated, schedule appropriate staff, interns, and to complete if necessary
- Collaborate with the Resettlement team to ensure
- Collaborate with the Matching Grant team to ensure in-kind requirements are being met and tracked in the appropriate WR databases
- Oversee automobile donations and ensure appropriate paperwork and DMV requirements are completed
- Communicate with Resettlement Team about any items that should be purchased that we don't have from donations, in compliance with Cooperative Agreement
- Maintain accurate records and inventory for in-kind donations
- Participate in meetings with Community Engagement and Resettlement departments to discuss upcoming arrivals, GIK issues & brainstorm opportunities
- Collaborate with the Warehouse team to conduct inventory of the warehouse and track items
- As donations arrive, input them into the Dynamics and Boxstorm
- Develop and manage in-kind outreach letters, donor correspondence, proposals, and reports
- Discover opportunities to receive and sell items from the WRS warehouse to increase cash GIK
- Update donation request forms, donations website page, etc
- Provide progress reports regarding donations to manager
- Other related tasks as assigned
- General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions
- Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required
- Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending
- Physical, emotional and intellectual demands
