Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science is required.
  • Zero to three years of professional experience is required; relevant internships or co-ops count.
  • Hands-on exposure to at least one real-time or hardware-in-the-loop platform, such as dSPACE, NI VeriStand, ETAS, Vector, Speedgoat, or equivalent academic lab work, is required.
  • Working knowledge of Controller Area Network and automotive network fundamentals is required.
  • Scripting ability in Python or MATLAB is required.
  • Experience with lab hardware, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and bench power supplies, and the ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics, is required.
  • Clear written documentation habits are required.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future, is required.
  • The ability to work onsite in Dearborn, Michigan, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Execute hardware-in-the-loop test cases against feature and system requirements and analyze the results.
  • Write and maintain automated test sequences and scripts using Python, CAPL, or dSPACE AutomationDesk.
  • Bring electronic control units up on the bench by flashing software, verifying communication, and configuring restbus simulation.
  • Analyze Controller Area Network, Local Interconnect Network, and Ethernet traces to determine whether a failure is in the device under test, the bench, or the test script.
  • Build and modify breakout boxes, load boxes, and test harnesses, and instrument simulated sensors and actuators.
  • Run bench health checks and intake tests before a test campaign starts.
  • Write defect reports with reproduction steps and supporting evidence and drive defects to closure.
  • Maintain traceability from requirement to test case to result.
  • Support senior engineers during new bench builds, wiring, and commissioning.
