- Manage communication tools for patient scheduling requests from patients and care teams.
- Manage the pre-registration review process for insurance verification for upcoming appointments.
- Manage follow-up appointment requests.
- Retrieve payment collections for services, flat-rate services, copayments, and upfront collections.
- Collect documentation according to registration compliance requirements and timelines.
- Scan registration documents into the electronic health record.
- Review and assign insurance tiering for proper payor assignment.
- Validate insurance eligibility and preauthorization requirements.
- Communicate with peers, patients, and care teams through multiple communication channels for appointment requests and patient-initiated outreach.
- Create new patient profiles in the electronic health record using accurate demographic data and proper identification collection.
- Manage assigned worklists, including the New Patient Registration Worklist.
- Schedule and register patients for Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Optometry, Rehabilitation, Radiology, Laboratory, and other disciplines.
- Cross-train for assigned coverage as a Patient Registration Specialist.
- Coordinate patient enrollment in the MySEARHC patient portal.
- Apply SEARHC’s standards of service excellence and deliver customer service.
- Participate in departmental improvement efforts.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment for self, staff, and patients.
- Maintain compliance with annual competencies.
- Identify community resources, foster partnerships, and use resources effectively.
- Refer patients without insurance coverage or with insurance questions to a Financial Counselor for resolution.
- Refer patients to the Patient Health Benefits team for screening and enrollment in available and qualified insurance resources.
- Perform registration and insurance verification work and handle patient and care-team scheduling requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Advanced degree.
- Basic Life Support certification.
