Requirements
  • The candidate must be at least 21 years of age.

  • The candidate must be able to sit and drive for up to 10 hours and climb in and out of the truck cab throughout the shift.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • The candidate must work around raw, live animal odors and in a noisy environment exceeding 85 decibels with moving equipment.
  • The candidate must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts.
Responsibilities
  • Operate a commercial motor vehicle safely to transport live poultry from growers to the processing facility or poultry feed to and from growers.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation regulations, company policies, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Perform and document pre-trip inspections of tires, oil, fuel, lights, brakes, hoses, and other vehicle components.
  • Assist with loading and unloading the trailer as necessary.
  • Ensure the load is secure before movement.
  • Maintain proper equipment, time, trip, weight, and other documentation.
  • Clean and wash the truck as necessary.
  • Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous live poultry tractor-trailer driving experience is preferred.
  • Basic mathematics functions and skills are preferred.
