Overview

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of pre-analytic, analytic and post analytic laboratory duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency, sweat chloride collections, EKG’s, etc.

• Under supervision, reports test results as appropriate.

• Sorts and processes routine and specific high-level specimens received by the lab-including multistep technical processing (i.e. Histology, Microbiology, Cytology, etc.). Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send out tests.

• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times. 

• Inventory management, equipment cleaning, maintenance, loading, etc.

• Boone Health has determined this is a safety-sensitive position.  The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

• Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree: High School Diploma or GED 

• Experience: 2-5 years

• Supervisor Experience: None Required 

• Licenses & Certification: None Required
