Requirements
  • Six to eight years of experience in technology risks and controls.
  • Six to eight years of experience in information technology, information security, and/or operational risk management, including operations, operational risk management, compliance, audit, and third-party risk management within technology and/or information security, or a combination thereof.
  • Deep understanding of financial institution processes, products, and risk.
  • Strong understanding of governance and oversight best practices, ideally with experience implementing and/or managing governance processes.
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze data, produce management reporting and dashboards, and prototype strategic solutions.
  • Experience communicating key messages to senior managers.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills and the ability to multitask across a varied workload.
  • Knowledge of information technology risk and process frameworks, including National Institute of Standards and Technology, Cybersecurity Horizontal Reviews, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library.
  • Understanding of risk management, including experience executing risk assessments and testing and evaluating processes and controls.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to independently drive work and pragmatically solve problems.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Auditing Technology, Engineering, Risk Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
Responsibilities
  • Work with Business Unit Risk Managers’ teams to identify potential issues and participate in issue development once they are recognized and agreed as issues.
  • Review management action plan development to ensure management action plans address the control deficiencies and symptoms identified in the issue, including building a sustainable and repeatable process.
  • Validate issues identified by management, the Second Line of Defense, and Internal Audit or the Third Line of Defense to determine whether they have been remediated.
  • Work with Business Unit Risk Managers’ teams to ensure new issues and closure issue packages are completed properly before presentation at tollgate meetings.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, management, Business Unit Risk Managers, the Second Line of Defense, and the Third Line of Defense to ensure risks are understood across all Lines of Defense and risk treatment is properly identified.
  • Review issue intake submissions for tollgates, prepare new-issue, closure, and risk-acceptance packages, ensure requirements are met, and ensure pending items are acted on, completed, and resolved.
  • Assess the scope of examinations or findings provided by the Second Line of Defense, Third Line of Defense, or a regulatory authority, and identify required remediation resources.
  • Participate in ongoing meetings to track remediation efforts and other review-related activities.
  • Oversee the review process, provide review updates to senior leadership, and escalate potential challenges.
  • Review management responses, provide feedback in line with issues management procedures, and participate in closeout meetings.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with automating or conceptualizing automated control solutions.
  • Fluency in Portuguese or Spanish.
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Security Manager, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control certification.
  • Other risk management, information security, and/or technology certifications, such as Certified in Governance of Enterprise Information Technology, Cybersecurity Fundamentals, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Information Technology Infrastructure Library, or Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology certification.
  • A degree from a competitive school demonstrating a strong academic and extracurricular track record.

September 3, 2026 Four Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group companies - Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management, Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Bank, and Progmat - established the first domestically domiciled tokenized investment trust in Japan and began verification in a live production environment, reports BigGo Finance. The fund deploys ¥200 million (approximately $1.3 million) of proprietary capital in short-term Japanese government bonds with remaining maturities of three months or less, and will not be offered to external investors. Beneficiary registry management is conducted on a blockchain, while the certificate-based representation of units is maintained. The objective is to connect the fund with stablecoins and tokenized deposits, transforming investment trusts into "usable assets" that can serve as settlement instruments or collateral. MUFG EMEA appoints Bénédicte de Giafferri as Head of Digital Infrastructure Coverage. MUFG EMEA today announces the appointment of Bénédicte de Giafferri as Managing Director, Head of Digital Infrastructure Coverage for EMEA. In this newly created role, Bénédicte will further develop client relationships to deliver MUFG's pipeline of digital transactions, including data centres, in a product-agnostic role. As part of MUFG's EMEA coverage business, she will support clients with diversification of funding for this growing sector, which is evolving from traditional project financing to include corporate and securitisation structures. Bénédicte, with over 25 years' experience in banking and infrastructure finance, will build out the digital infrastructure strategy for EMEA and lead the EMEA team, working in close collaboration with colleagues in U.S. and APAC regions. She will be based in Paris and report locally to Genoveva Ramon-Borja, Head of Global Corporate and Investment Banking EU Platform and Corporate Coverage, and functionally to Holly Villiers, Deputy Head of Global Corporate and Investment Banking, EMEA. MUFG taps BlackRock and Morgan Stanley as it eyes Japanese private credit. September 1 2026 Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is exploring separate collaborations with BlackRock and Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) to develop an open platform for institutional investment in Japanese private credit. MUFG has entered into discussions with both firms on developing Japan's private credit segment, as the country's nascent market starts to attract global investors and managers look to expand their presence in the region. The potential collaborations aim to connect domestic and global capital with Japanese companies, MUFG said. The discussions will cover the evaluation, sourcing and investment in private credit opportunities, it added. MUFG brings a large Japanese corporate client network and local market access to the partnerships, while BlackRock contributes global private credit expertise through its HPS platform. MSIM, also brings its experience in the space, having provided debt solutions to businesses globally for more than 15 years. Japan's private credit market remains at a relatively early stage of development compared with those in Europe and the US. However, private credit firms, encouraged by a combination of macroeconomic factors and changing investor attitudes towards alternative credit, have recently been expanding their presence in Japan. For example, Fiera Capital opened a Tokyo office in October 2025 and made a number of hires, including Chinatsu Aoyama as director, private markets specialist, earlier this year.
