Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Five or more years of work experience.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized, with efficient, consistent, and accurate work habits.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Google Drive, Docs, Forms, and Sheets.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to and direct walk-in traffic, answer phones, and monitor and respond to office email inquiries for student employment and financial aid.
  • Make appointments, escalate inquiries to senior staff, troubleshoot and respond to technical or other issues, and communicate issues affecting students and families navigating employment and financial aid processes.
  • Serve as the primary processor of student I-9 forms and Student Employment Verifications.
  • Manage requests to create financial aid histories for students and alumni applying to graduate programs.
  • Review confidential student and financial information to prepare more than 5,000 files for counselor review.
  • Determine financial aid application completion by reviewing tax documents for missing information and contacting students for additional information as needed.
  • Review financial aid documents submitted for federal aid verification.
  • Assist senior counseling staff with student employment projects, scholarship assignments, file notations, address changes, study abroad letters, and other assigned projects.
  • Assist the compliance team in troubleshooting FAFSA mismatches and collecting, reviewing, and certifying student-submitted verification documents for accuracy.
  • Coordinate the Director and Deputy Director's schedules as needed.
  • Prepare meeting materials, presentations, and follow-up documents.
  • Communicate, handle correspondence, and respond as appropriate to phone, paper, or electronic inquiries on behalf of the Director and Deputy Director.
  • Assist the Director and Deputy Director with special projects, including preparing materials to the specifications of external departments such as the Office of Audit and Compliance.
