Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry is required.
  • A general understanding of the construction industry, job site safety requirements, planning, building trades, sequence of work, and relevant technology is required.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship and the ability to obtain site access authorization for work sites are required.
  • Ability to navigate and move around the construction site, including walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding, and standing for extended periods on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to handle tools and equipment and perform tasks requiring coordination and manual skills.
  • Manual dexterity, hearing, mental acuity, typing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity are required.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to stand and sit for periods longer than 30 minutes but not more than two hours consecutively.
  • Ability to print and draw legible letters, numbers, words, characters, and symbols that are understood by others.
  • Ability to learn complex tasks and remember how to complete tasks without assistance once trained.
  • Ability to control behavior during stressful situations or short deadlines and maintain a high level of concentration.
  • Quick thinking and decision-making ability to address issues and challenges that arise during construction.
  • Endurance to work in various weather conditions and handle the physical demands of supervising a construction project.
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols and the ability to enforce safety standards on the construction site.
  • Adherence to personal protective equipment requirements, including hard hats, safety vests, and steel-toed boots.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Superintendent and Project Manager in the successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Assist the Superintendent with managing job site safety, quality, and schedule from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Champion the company’s safety culture with project teams and subcontractors and ensure quality and safety standards are followed.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, superintendents, project team members, and field teams.
  • Represent the company professionally.
  • Assist in managing the field and project team successfully and collaboratively.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships and communication with the client, construction manager, project team, consultants, architects, engineers, subcontractors, adjacent communities, and governmental agencies.
  • Assist with job site logistics and field coordination setup.
  • Participate in reviewing project documents for constructability and content, including shop drawings.
  • Assist with enforcing a site-specific emergency action plan in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate subcontractors.
  • Assist with coordinating building inspections, subcontractor inspections, and agencies.
  • Perform daily job site walks with the Superintendent and submit daily safety audit reports.
  • Attend foreman, pre-task, safety, and project staff meetings.
  • Assist with managing job site manpower production and performance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and needed.
