Requirements
  • Previous experience in institutional and/or commercial housekeeping is preferred.
  • Familiarity with waxing and stripping floors is preferred.
  • The ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions is required.
  • The ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds is required.
  • The role requires repetitive hand motions, walking, standing, and reaching above the head.
  • The role may involve exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, body fluids, biological hazards, varying temperatures, humidity, chemicals, dirt, oil, grease, noise, odors, and wet slippery floors.
Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning of all patient-use areas, restrooms, and offices, and perform project cleaning as needed.
  • Scrub, mop, polish, and use appropriate chemical mixtures.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with patients, the general public, physicians, hospital personnel, and outside entities.
  • Uphold Jacksonville Memorial Hospital's behavioral standards.
  • Collaborate effectively and positively with team members.
  • Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with coworkers and management.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Be flexible with work schedules, hours, and assignments.
  • Adhere to regular attendance and punctuality policies.
  • Perform other related duties as required or requested.
