Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or at least 5+ years of direct experience with FMLA, State and Federal Leave Laws, ADA, ADAAA, and reasonable accommodation administration and multi state leave administration laws.
  • Experience with the interactive ADA process and effectively administering this process.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are critical to success in this role.
  • Professional and effective written and verbal communications skills with proven competency in analytical problem solving, attention to detail, organizational skills, multi-tasking, and approaching challenging matters with enthusiasm and creativity in a proactive manner.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Workers Compensation, HIPAA and other related Federal and State privacy laws and regulations.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and able to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects/tasks.
  • Display professionalism with all employees, managers and external vendors.
Responsibilities
  • Leave Specialist administers the leave process from the start to the finish, including coordination with employees, managers, HR Business Partners, third-party leave administrator and Payroll.
  • Review and coordinate leave eligibility pursuant to state and federal leave laws and internal policies that may be relevant regarding leaves of absences. Ensure employees have full understanding of benefits while on a leave of absence and provide employees on leave without pay with premium details and/or Cobra details if benefits will terminate.
  • Review internal leave policies and update or develop new ones as needed for the employee handbook and leave communications, as well as keep abreast of all state and federal leave policies.
  • Manage Enterprise’s shared leave bank. Ensure that the Workday system maintains correct and adequate leave bank hours. Review shared leave requests and required documentation to ensure requests meet eligibility criteria, approve or decline requests, as appropriate.
  • Manages the unemployment insurance and workers compensation processes.
  • Administer Reasonable Accommodation requests including the analyzing medical documentation to support the request, engaging in the interactive process, tracking the process, making recommendations to the business and other internal stakeholders of reasonable accommodations, and making timely communication with all parties.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive and compliant case management records of reasonable accommodation requests under the Americans with Disabilities Act and other benefit/leave reports.
  • Educate leaders and other HR colleagues on the accommodations process and its relation to ADA, ADAAA, CHRA and other federal regulations, state statutes and local ordinances.
  • Provide reporting to Total Rewards Management Team, Payroll and Third-Party Leave Administrator with leave utilization, information for payroll cycles, intermittent leave hours and reasonable accommodations.
  • Provide training on FMLA, Reasonable Accommodations, HIPAA, and ADA annually as well as ad-hoc training to internal partners and HR team members.
  • Engage key partners as needed, including internal HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, Workplace Services, and Legal teams, external healthcare providers, and third-party disability administrator.
  • Leads, educates, and advises the business and other internal stakeholders regarding compliance according to all relevant regulations and policies. Provide guidance to ensure that compliance with those law and regulations are being followed.

Taking On Bilt, Stake Aims To Expand Its Cash-Back Rewards Program For Renters

Aiming to compete with Bilt in the nascent property renter rewards market, Stake, a startup that provides cash back and banking services to renters, today announced that it raised $12 million in a Series A round led by RET Ventures’ new RET Ventures ESG Fund. Enterprise Community Partners, Hometeam Ventures, Operator Stack, Shadow Ventures, Olive Tree Ventures and Second Century Ventures, the investment arm of the National Association of Realtors, also participated, bringing Stake’s total raised to $17.9 million. Co-founder and CEO Rowland Hobbs says the new capital will be put toward expanding the platform and increasing Stake’s workforce from 17 employees to 23 by the end of the year
