Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience building productive relationships with diverse stakeholders using tact, discretion, diplomacy, sound judgment, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including preparing reports, correspondence, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Experience planning and executing meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, improve operational processes, supervise student employees, and exercise initiative, creativity, accountability, and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, budget tracking, data collection, and program assessment.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the program manager for the university-wide Cultivating Conversation initiative and related University Life programming.
  • Coordinate operational planning and execution of workshops, events, meetings, and related activities.
  • Oversee program logistics, including venue and vendor coordination, catering, event promotion and communications, registration management, staffing coordination, program materials, and on-site event execution.
  • Coordinate logistics and hospitality for external speakers, facilitators, and partner organizations, and serve as the primary operational liaison for campus and external stakeholders.
  • Support committees and working groups; maintain project plans, operational documentation, and budget tracking records; support purchasing and payment processes; and monitor project timelines.
  • Implement assessment and evaluation processes, track program participation and outcomes, contribute to reports and dashboards, and use data to support continuous improvement and decision-making.
  • Supervise and coordinate student employees and temporary staff, providing training, scheduling, and day-to-day direction.
  • Develop and implement operational processes that improve efficiency and maintain customer service standards.
  • Oversee the advancement and growth of the program and provide direction supporting its philosophy, mission, strategy, annual goals, and objectives.
  • Disseminate and publish program information to create public awareness and support.
  • Work with leadership, internal and external colleagues, and community residents to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Identify, solicit, and cultivate community partnerships and collaborations.
  • Develop metrics to measure program success and evaluate grant success.
  • Identify and evaluate potential funding sources and contribute to grant and contract submissions, including grant application content and budgetary sections.
  • Develop and manage the program's operating budget.
  • Develop the program's administrative infrastructure and manage human resource and administrative functions, including staffing, hiring, supervision, performance development, counseling, and discipline when warranted.
  • Oversee information systems, facilities, and space needs.
  • Implement and maintain systems to gather, track, and report program information and regularly inform leadership of initiative progress.
  • Recommend structural or programmatic adjustments based on the program's missions, goals, and objectives.
  • Design and manage program communications, identify outreach opportunities, and promote philanthropic and collaborative support.
  • Contribute to and assist in managing content on the program website and monitor editorial changes and additions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Project or program management, communications, and/or events management and production experience, particularly in higher education.
  • Experience working effectively with faculty, university leaders and administrators, students, and alumni.
  • A record of working with sensitive or confidential information.
  • An advanced degree.
