Requirements
  • Experience working with children, such as through babysitting, coaching, camps, or classrooms.
  • Physical stamina and mobility to actively engage with children, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 45 pounds.
  • Effective visual and auditory communication.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Afternoon/evening availability starting at 3 p.m. and Saturday availability.
  • A calm, flexible, respectful, and empathetic approach to supporting children through challenging moments.
Responsibilities
  • Work one-to-one with children ages 2–12 to build communication, independence, confidence, language, social, and everyday-life skills.
  • Use play and floor-based activities to support language and social development.
  • Help children learn functional skills such as asking for help, tying their shoes, and transitioning between tasks.
  • Manage challenging moments such as meltdowns and elopement with patience and a calm presence.
  • Track progress and take session notes so the Board Certified Behavior Analyst can update therapy plans.
  • Communicate with the team to problem-solve, celebrate progress, and adjust support as needed.
  • Participate in assent-based, neuroaffirming care and collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Complete paid Registered Behavior Technician training and certification during the first month.
