Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent field.
  • At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with electric vehicle supply equipment.
  • Hands-on experience working with hardware in a laboratory or professional environment.
  • Experience with customer service or support.
  • Experience working with Salesforce Service Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A valid driver's license, annual motor vehicle record checks, and participation in annual defensive driving training.
  • Knowledge of electronics and three-phase circuits.
  • Basic familiarity with command-line interfaces.
  • The ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and stairs; working in confined spaces and near loud equipment; lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally; traversing uneven, irregular, steep, or confined terrain; and working in cold environments and on concrete floors.
Responsibilities
  • Lead on-site diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance of electric vehicle supply equipment hardware, solar photovoltaic systems, and battery energy storage system equipment, including advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of recurring or complex field issues.
  • Act as the field point of contact for escalated service needs, coordinating directly with internal support teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop and implement best practices for field configuration, installation, and maintenance procedures, including solar and battery energy storage systems, and proactively identify site-specific risks or improvements.
  • Serve as the on-site technical expert and use diagnostic tools, test equipment, and system data to isolate electrical, mechanical, firmware, network, and communications faults.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed service documentation in ticketing systems and provide insights from field data to inform operational and product enhancements.
  • Own field inventory tracking and replenishment for the region, ensuring parts availability for scheduled and emergency maintenance.
  • Support commissioning of new charging sites by performing hardware verification, power-up procedures, and end-to-end testing with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform routine inverter checks, battery health assessments, string testing, and monitoring system configuration.
  • Interface professionally with clients and site hosts in the field while representing the company's commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration, National Fire Protection Association, National Electrical Code, manufacturer, and site-specific safety requirements while performing energized work, lockout/tagout, arc-flash assessments, and other field activities.
  • Travel to and provide support on-site at electric vehicle supply equipment, solar, and battery energy storage system installations for approximately 90% of the work time.
  • Prepare equipment, interact with clients by phone and email, handle internal service-ticket escalations, and participate in recurring Asset Management and Customer Success team meetings.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with solar photovoltaic systems, battery energy storage systems, or other distributed energy resources.
  • Familiarity with solar inverters, battery management systems, and energy storage technologies.
  • A good understanding of networking concepts, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, cellular networks, and IP addresses.
