Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Related Field
- 5+ years' previous accounting or finance experience
- Big 4 or other Public Accounting Experience (optional)
- Fund Administration Experience (preferred)
- CPA (preferred)
- MBA, CFA or additional designation a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Experience in Yardi, MRI, J. D. Edwards or comparable software
Responsibilities
- Reviews full-cycle accounting of assigned portfolio of assets; this includes the review of financial statements, general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, cash flow projections and review of job cost reports
- Reviews asset level financial statements, DSCR Calculation to meet lender reporting requirements and works with Financial Reporting to assist in the preparation or review of financial statements to meet investor requirements
- Provides support and oversight to annual budgets review for operating assets
- Leads the team in onboarding and structuring of newly acquired assets and development of financial reporting responsibilities
- As applicable, oversees the offboarding of disposed assets providing due diligence requests, sales pro-ration, record sale entries, calculate cost off and settle all balance sheet items
- Reviews contribution and distribution calculations, summaries and notices as needed for funds, co-investments, and joint ventures
- Manage year end audits, including review of audit schedules, roll forwards, and working with team to ensure all required support is provided to the auditors
- Works with Development and Development Accounting to transfer WIP/Construction assets to Operational assets and provide training to third party managers where applicable
- Review CAM and Tax/Insurance reconciliations/estimates/accruals
- Asset Level cash management monitor book/bank balances to determine cash availability and cash needs for the individual asset and source funding
- Reviews monthly/quarterly updates, revision/changes to debt instruments
- Ensures compliance with SOX and SEC reporting requirements where applicable
