Requirements
  • Two years’ work experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions and accurately document processes and findings.
  • Experience in the use of general shop math.
  • Experience in the use of general hand tools, power tools and the use of overhead cranes.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate incoming parts and determine what cleaning, plating or other operations are required.
  • Interpret and follow work instructions to ensure the proper process is applied to the correct part features.
  • Clean parts of any contaminants using cleaning agents and chemicals prior to the plating process.
  • Mask part in preparation for plating using manufacturer recommendations and internal work instructions.
  • Select and set-up necessary racks and/or fixtures for the initiation of the plating operation.
  • Prepare plating bath based on specific parameters per work instructions.
  • Remove masking after coating and prepare parts as necessary for the next process.
  • Maintain equipment as required, including performing daily checks and completing logbooks or other records when required.
  • Frequently perform process tests for quality control.
  • Able to pass lab tests for specific coatings and specific jobs.
  • Use handheld measuring devices to ensure proper application of coating.
