Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education is required.
  • A valid heavy equipment operator's license or certification is required.
  • Proven experience operating various heavy equipment is required, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders.
  • Solid understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is required.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to heavy equipment operation is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and other technical documents is required.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are required.
  • Physical stamina and fitness to withstand long hours of sitting, standing, and operating heavy machinery are required.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are required.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to changing work conditions are required.
Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, cranes, and other specialized equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, conduct pre-operation inspections, and follow established safety procedures and protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks, report equipment issues or malfunctions, and coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs and servicing.
  • Use heavy equipment to move, load, unload, and transport soil, rocks, debris, equipment, and other construction or mining materials.
  • Clear and level land, excavate trenches, dig foundations, and perform grading operations according to project plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with construction crews, supervisors, engineers, and surveyors to support project requirements, coordinate tasks, and contribute to timely project completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, pre-shift inspections, fuel consumption, maintenance activities, and incidents or accidents.
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors, follow instructions, provide status updates, and report equipment-operation or site-condition concerns.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations concerning equipment operation, environmental standards, and occupational health and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience operating a 963K Trak Loader is preferred.
