Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or an information technology-related field with one to ten years of experience.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Experience with Veeam.
  • Experience with Windows Failover Clusters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong organizational and motivational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and make logical decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to work on-site five days per week in Rochester, New York.
  • Ability to work without relocation support, as no relocation is offered.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Infrastructure Managers, designers, and quality assurance test teams to oversee the information and communications technology build and release process for the client.
  • Prepare and issue requirements for internal and external clients.
  • Coordinate configuration management activities, develop build standards, and assist the quality assurance team through systems certification across multiple platforms and products.
  • Build, maintain, and configure the Configuration Management Database and configuration items.
  • Act as liaison between external partners and the development team, coordinating and negotiating development plans, quality and configuration exceptions, build-state control, and releases.
  • Develop and own the build process, interacting with external vendors to enforce formal system build-standardization controls and consistent standardized builds across environments according to design specifications.
  • Work with the design team to ensure consistent systems configuration and build documentation; produce deployment runbooks and provide input to release and implementation plans.
  • Own the tools and databases used for build-certification and release verification.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on release content plans, certification of final configuration specifications and build standards, and external-party approvals.
  • Own and maintain the build catalog and establish a release plan with the Program Management Office.
  • Work with quality assurance teams, server engineers, and technical leads to monitor build and integration processes, ensure correct build execution, and resolve build errors and failures.
  • Work with server engineers to understand and communicate risks as gold-build standards and release activities are developed for systems and infrastructure components.
  • Work with the quality assurance lead to establish and maintain a bug-triage process, determine and prioritize must-fix release issues, coordinate planned fixes, and keep documentation and artifacts current.
  • Work with Dev Production, quality assurance, and Live Ops teams to identify and resolve release risks by monitoring and tracking incomplete or uncertified builds and controlling changes to approved build assets.
  • Coordinate internal and external release notes, known issues, and knowledge-base updates.
  • Ensure releases pass required checks and approvals before live deployment and communicate approved exceptions to stakeholders.
  • Work with the Program Management Office and Live Ops team to coordinate and publish frequent builds, hotfixes, and patches.
  • Maintain formal build and release records tracking release content and history across design, implementation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain a release repository containing build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
