Requirements
  • Master educator with graduate degree(s) in relevant fields (e.g., science education, arts education, sustainability education, STE(A)M education, museum education, environmental studies, or related interdisciplinary fields)
  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset
  • Expert knowledge of the intersections between the arts and STEM disciplines, including historical perspectives, design-based thinking, and interdisciplinary approaches
  • Experience designing and implementing educational programs in diverse settings beyond standard school curriculum, such as museums/cultural institutions, community organizations, after-school programs, or informal learning environments
  • Experience developing and leading STEAM-focused initiatives that integrate artistic and scientific practices to support creative problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Experience collaborating with artists, scientists, educators, and community partners to create and facilitate interdisciplinary learning experiences
  • Experience organizing and facilitating off-site educational activities
  • Experience teaching similar/related course(s) to adult learners in traditional or non-traditional educational settings
  • Active involvement with STEAM organizations or initiatives an asset
  • Experience implementing equity, diversity, and inclusion-centered pedagogical strategies; responsiveness to student needs and interests
  • Collaborative, with a commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and other online tools to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences
  • Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting in advance of course start date
