Requirements
  • Three or more years of sales or customer support experience in agronomy, agriculture, animal science, horticulture, or a related field.
  • Certified Crop Advisor certification or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
  • Demonstrated success building customer relationships and converting and growing a book of business.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to provide customer service throughout the year, including outside a set work schedule.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • The ability to work independently and strategically with minimal supervision and to self-manage work time and priorities.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to effectively manage and develop interpersonal relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Grow sales by positioning and promoting company products and services to current and prospective customers through regular in-person and telephone sales calls.
  • Educate customers about the value of products and their impact on soil health.
  • Recommend solutions, products, services, and practices to maximize customer returns.
  • Prospect, close, and build long-term customer partnerships to support retention and sales growth, including cross-selling and up-selling available product lines.
  • Create an account pipeline by prioritizing potential spend and total opportunity, convert prospects into customers, and analyze opportunities for continued growth.
  • Assess customer product requirements and execute product or service sales to achieve or exceed target sales and profit levels.
  • Create and deliver customer presentations using real-life data to position products and services.
  • Advise customers on the proper use of products and equipment.
  • Act as a conduit between customers and facility personnel to optimize the customer experience.
  • Use online systems, including a customer relationship management system, to manage sales orders and customer information.
  • Stay apprised of current market trends, key industry influencers, business initiatives, and competitor products and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
