Procon receives CMAA NCC Project Achievement Award for Tidal Basin Seawall Rehabilitation.

Procon receives CMAA NCC Project Achievement Award for Tidal Basin Seawall Rehabilitation. Procon is proud to announce Procon Consulting, LLC has received the 2026 CMAA National Capital Chapter Project Achievement Award in the Environmental category for its work on the National Park Service's Tidal Basin Seawall Rehabilitation project in Washington, DC. Serving as Construction Manager as Agent (CMa), Procon supported the delivery of this landmark $113 million infrastructure project, replacing deteriorating 1800s-era seawall infrastructure that had settled more than five feet and threatened one of the nation's most recognizable historic landscapes. Completed eight months ahead of schedule, the project rehabilitated approximately 6,600 linear feet of seawall surrounding the Tidal Basin, creating a resilient, flood-resistant shoreline designed to protect the iconic cherry trees and surrounding infrastructure for the next century. Throughout construction, Procon provided day-to-day leadership, coordinating the National Park Service, designer, contractor, and stakeholders while maintaining public access to one of Washington's busiest destinations. Its team also helped maximize sustainability efforts by incorporating reclaimed seawall stone into the new structure, repurposing wood from the beloved cherry tree "Stumpy," strengthening quality oversight through off-site inspections, and helping the owner realize approximately $30 million in contingency savings through disciplined project management and financial stewardship. This marks another CMAA NCC Project Achievement Award for Procon and reflects its continued commitment to delivering complex federal projects that preserve historic assets while building resilient infrastructure for future generations. Congratulations to its outstanding project team and partners whose dedication made this recognition possible, and thank you to the CMAA NCC for this honor.

Procon Receives First-Ever National CMAA Award

Procon receives first-ever National CMAA award. Procon receives second Project Achievement Award from CMAA for the Department of Veterans Affairs HQ Optimization - this time on the National level! Procon received its first-ever National Project Achievement Award (Government category) from CMAA for the Department of Veterans Affairs HQ Office Optimization for GSA. Procon's project team had the opportunity to accept this award on stage during the Industry Honors Awards Reception at CMAA 2025 in Nashville. Earlier this year, Procon Consulting, LLC were awarded CMAA's regional DC-area Project Achievement Award for the same project in the "Best Building Project - Less than $50M" category. Procon served as the CMa for GSA and the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure this $15.8M office renovation met the modern design needs of the tenant while adhering to strict federal government requirements for safety and security. This project faced several unique challenges, including multiple contractors using multiple delivery methods for multiple projects across multiple floors. Additionally, some office spaces had to remain operational and safe throughout the construction phase, while the below metro station posed additional security challenges around the installation of electrical. Using innovative materials and creative solutions, Procon delivered 80,00 SF of a modern yet compliant office environment conducive to in-person collaboration. The best part? Procon Consulting, LLC delivered on time and on budget! Congratulations to Procon's project team - Jay Schrum, Mark Miller, Josue Fernandez and Abbey Sheasley - for their outstanding work on this project.
