  • One year front office or revenue cycle experience in a health care organization.
  • One year of customer service.
  • One year of Microsoft Suite.
Responsibilities
  • Obtains referral request from physician.
  • Verifies insurance coverage or lack thereof for patient. Obtains authorizations if needed from insurance coverage.
  • Gathers all records necessary for incoming or outgoing referral requests.
  • Gathers pertinent information from insurance carriers, financial counselors, and other ancillary staff to make certain the patient's financial obligations for services provided.
  • Completes referral paperwork, including copies, and fax to medical office.
  • Contacts patient regarding referral information and give name, location, telephone number of specialist.
  • Acts as a liaison between hospitals, physicians, health plans, vendors, and patients, or other referral sources.
  • Covers New Patient Coordinator, Non-oncology referral coordinator, HIM, VA authorizations and phones as needed and under the supervision of the team Leader.
  • Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
