Requirements
  • Hands-on experience with React or a similar component-based frontend framework.
  • An understanding of Java or a similar object-oriented language.
  • Familiarity with databases and SQL.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the Trust & Safety team to build and improve Responsible Gaming tools.
  • Build and maintain React-based Responsible Gaming tools.
  • Write clear, maintainable backend code using Java, including APIs and services that process high volumes of signals, events, and enforcement actions.
  • Build and improve APIs, services, and database-backed functionality that handle high volumes of traffic reliably and at scale.
  • Contribute to well-scoped features, fixes, and improvements across the full stack with support from more experienced engineers.
  • Test changes carefully and improve service reliability, observability, and supportability.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, planning sessions, and team ceremonies.
  • Investigate bugs and support issues, understand root causes with the team, and make practical improvements.
  • Develop hands-on knowledge of scaling systems, databases, caching, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Keep documentation current so others can understand and support the services and tools.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product partners, operations, and compliance stakeholders to deliver changes that improve platform safety and integrity.

DraftKings and FanDuel claim prediction markets have 'low single-digit' impact despite 50-69% stock drops

DraftKings and FanDuel insist prediction markets are having minimal impact on their sportsbooks, despite significant stock declines. DraftKings shares have fallen roughly 50% over the past year, whilst FanDuel parent Flutter Entertainment has dropped close to 69%. Both companies missed earnings expectations this week. DraftKings maintained its full-year guidance, but Flutter cut its profit forecast by 22%. Despite this, shares rose following second-quarter results—DraftKings up around 6% and Flutter up over 2% by mid-afternoon Friday. DraftKings reports "no discernible impact" from prediction markets, with only 1% customer overlap with the largest prediction-market operator in legal sports betting states. FanDuel has seen a "low single-digit" impact. Both companies launched their own prediction-market platforms late last year, focusing on states without legal sports betting. DraftKings says its platform is "growing faster than anticipated".

FanDuel owner Flutter to delist from London Stock Exchange on 3 August

Flutter Entertainment will delist from the London Stock Exchange on 3 August, making the New York Stock Exchange its sole primary trading venue. Flutter moved its primary listing from London to New York in 2024, driven by FanDuel's accelerating growth in the US sports betting market, where the company now expects to generate the largest share of its profits. The delisting follows other significant changes at Flutter, including the departure of FanDuel CEO Amy Howe in May after five years leading the brand's expansion from 10 to 26 US states. PokerStars' FanDuel merger boosts US online poker revenue 58% in New Jersey

Flutter's decision to merge PokerStars with FanDuel and introduce interstate pooling across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan has delivered a significant revenue boost in April, the first full month following the 1 April transition. In Pennsylvania, FanDuel's poker revenue reached $1,034,096 in April, a 47.8% increase over the January-March average. New Jersey saw an even larger jump, with revenue of $769,600 representing a 58% increase over the prior three months, reclaiming the top position from WSOP Online. The move reversed negative year-over-year trends in both states. New Jersey's total online poker revenue rose 11.4% compared to April 2025, whilst Pennsylvania increased 9.7%. However, May's figures will reveal whether this growth stems from promotional offers or represents sustainable interest.
