Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Graduate degree in computer engineering/sciences, industrial/systems engineering, economics, or related field.
  • Proven capabilities in Object-Oriented Programing.
  • Demonstrated ability to write professional-level codes in Python/JavaScript/C++, or other similar platforms.
  • At least one year of experience in simulation and/or modeling, and in particular experience in conducting analytical research, software design/development, and development of modeling/simulation tools.
  • Excellent data gathering and management skills.
  • Demonstrated report writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work both independently and effectively in a large group.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines and experts, including geoscientists, and reservoir engineers.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain user-friendly computer-based tools for geothermal resource assessment and techno-economic modeling. Write professional-level codes, including Object-Oriented Programing (OOP) in Python/JavaScript/C++ for tool development, debugging, and resource estimates. Must ensure reproducibility of results. Develop a dashboard/web-app/app to share the results of the research.
  • Develop and maintain programming code and tool standards, process improvements, and documentation. Communicates with and trains internal and external clients.
  • Participate in project meetings and professional society conferences.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in geothermal resource estimates, energy system modeling, techno-economics, and GEOPHIRES and GETEM tools.
  • Experience in writing professional-level programing codes as well as working with industry-standard software.
