What You’ll get to do:

• Work to develop products and solutions from customer ideas and problem statements
• Define project scope and deliverables that align with customer objectives
• Work on cross-functional product development teams, sometimes traveling to work on-site with customers 
• Utilize a variety of CAD tools and software
• Coordinate user research, build prototypes, and facilitate ideation events
• Ensure concepts take into consideration user desirability, commercial viability, and production feasibility
• Define next steps, identify risks, and develop a plan to address risks
• Take part in project activities, while managing your own schedule
• Participate in training and growth opportunities as a part of the DISHER team while learning and developing new skills
• Participate in DISHER Team continuous improvement projects alongside your team

What will make you successful:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Product Design
• 5+ years in new product development 
• Experience working through the human-centered design process and comfortable applying the fundamentals
• Prototyping experience specifically with metals, wood, plastics, and/or other materials
• Ability to work through unknown product requirements and help navigate technical tradeoffs
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with the customer and project team
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for learning
• Willingness to learn new skills and gain project experience in new industries
• Organized and able to manage several projects at one time
