Geotab is seeking a Solutions Engineer who is technically oriented, yet has the passion and skill to explain complex technical concepts to Geotab customers and partnering engineers. The Solutions Engineer will organize and own key integration and business projects for Geotab customers and partners. What you’ll do:
As a Solution Engineer, you will become familiar with all areas of the Geotab product suite, and contribute to pre/post-sales opportunities at a technical level. You will focus primarily on supporting government customers, resellers, and internal sales teams. You will be engaged from the start on exciting new opportunities to expand Geotab’s footprint in the industry, focusing primarily in Government markets (Federal, State and Municipal). Day to day, you will be responsible for assisting Geotab’s Business Development team in opportunities, assisting product pilots, supporting public works and winter operations integration related solutions as well as general government fleet. You will serve as a subject matter expert on all Geospatial Solutions with MyGeotab and help educate customers, resellers and internal teams as needed. You will be engaged in special strategic projects as required.
To be successful in this position, you will need to be a strong multitasker with excellent time management skills, who can properly monitor and prioritize various projects. This position involves occasional travel to corporate headquarters and on-site locations in order to provide in-person support to potential partners/customers where necessary. The expectation of keeping current in integration methods will be a strong requirement. You will work alongside the Business Development, Partner Account Managers, Strategic Resellers/Accounts. Software Development, Embedded Systems, and Engineering Support.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Provide support to resellers, internal sales teams, and strategic government customers/resellers.
- Assist in coordination the writing and of technical responses to RFPs, RFIs, and sales proposals.
- Learn and maintain technical knowledge of the Geotab ecosystem.
- Subject Matter Expert in Salt Spreader Controller Integrations and other winter operations related solutions.
- Participate in Government pilot programs for new potential customers and product offerings.
- Support end-user requirements in special projects.
- Build and maintain industry-specific custom reports.
- Maintain relationships with industry partners and system integrators.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining new Geotab products.
- Act as a point of escalation for opportunities with existing clients.
What you’ll bring to this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 1-3 years experience in a technical sales or account management position.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with OBD or SAE vehicle standards.
- Knowledge on vehicle circuitry and CAN communication.
- Understanding of serial data interfaces and communication.
- Technical experience using SQL, JavaScript, Python, and Google BigQuery.
- Proficient aptitude for understanding technical and business requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience working with Government agencies through solution implementations or procurement processes.
