Office Presence:
The role will be based in our clients’ attractive Glasgow offices where the expectation will be that you work from the office in Glasgow CBD for 2-3 days per week, give or take.
Role Profile:
This bank are one of Synechron’s most valued and long-standing clients and their Transaction Reporting team is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the team in Glasgow. You will be part of a global dynamic team building in-house systems that are critical to the business. Solving problems to meet the ever-changing regulatory environment.
The Senior Java Developer will . . .
Work primarily as a Java Developer as part of a collaborative agile development team.
Be required to liaise directly with a variety of stakeholders
You will develop functionality in an iterative fashion, liaising with the business analysts, product owners and other Developers within the scrum team
You will develop systems that are critical to the business while being able to work with others to solve problems and meet the dynamic regulatory environment in which we do business.
Required Skills:
Core Java (minimum Java 8, Java 15 preferred) and Spring
Experience in Domain Driven Design and micro-services
CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI)
Sound understanding of OOP design and SOLID principles
Strong communication skills and an excellent grasp and delivery of English
The Following Skills/Experience Would Be Hugely Beneficial:
Working with Data warehouses or MPP databases such as Greenplum
Big data analytics technologies such as Spark
Experience of UI development (e.g. Angular, React)
Use of commercial cloud technologies and frameworks (e.g. Azure, PowerApps, Databricks, Snowflake)
Experience in banking and regulatory reporting (MIFID, SFTR, EMIR, CFTC, MAS, ASIC etc.)
Knowledge of financial products and the lifecycle of a trade
