The International Business Group Department is responsible for expanding DiDis global footprint and establishing DiDis global presence. This effort will leverage existing application and service infrastructure to build DiDis overseas products. Our team will be the vanguard of DiDis international expansion initiative. Here you will work to elevate the experiences of our global customers, improve DiDis operational efficiency and build the products that will continue to change the global transportation landscape.
The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data pipeline architecture, data accessibility, as well as protect the data security during transfer. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, data scientists and business analysts on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
Build and maintain efficient and secured data pipeline architecture.
Perform data preparation activities, such as collecting, cleaning, and organizing. Work with cross teams to resolve or remediate data quality issues.
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and big data technologies.
Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers.
Communicate results and key metrics of the data pipeline infra on a regular basis to stakeholders and senior executives.
3+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role with master degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
Experience building and optimizing big data data pipelines, architectures and data sets, working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big data data stores
Creative problem solving and critical thinking skills
Effective verbal and written communication in English
Ability to collaborate well on a geo-distributed and diversity team
