Requirements
  • A college, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related subject, or relevant equivalent experience is required.
  • The position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • External early-career candidates must be within two years of completing their highest degree from an accredited U.S. college or university and reside within the continental United States.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with business functions to define, determine, analyze, document, and communicate information-system and solution objectives, business requirements, and priorities.
  • Work with application and technical experts on solution design, implementation, support, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems.
  • Define and document business success for small- to medium-sized initiatives and support project definition and documentation for larger initiatives.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document functional requirements across process, information, event, socio-political, and location aspects as appropriate.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document non-functional business requirements.
  • Conduct requirements management activities and ensure that the impact of changes is understood and approved by appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assist with or conduct solution assessment and validation to ensure functional and technical specifications meet identified business needs.
  • Assist with or review test plans and testing methodology, and participate in solution testing to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met.
  • Assist with problem analysis and escalate issues for additional analysis and resolution when appropriate.
  • Develop positive working relationships with the business and functions involved in downstream technical processes.
  • Learn Business Relationship Management best practices to support delivery of business value.
  • Collaborate with procurement, information technology, and data science teams to identify and document artificial intelligence and machine learning use cases for procurement processes.
  • Support requirements gathering and documentation for artificial-intelligence-enabled solutions, including data, integration, and functional needs.
  • Monitor artificial intelligence solution performance and track metrics such as accuracy, adoption, and business value.
  • Document artificial intelligence use cases, model behavior, and business processes for knowledge sharing and audit readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual procurement activities using artificial intelligence and intelligent automation tools.
  • Support integration of artificial intelligence solutions with procurement platforms such as Ivalua, Ariba, and Oracle by documenting data flows and dependencies.
  • Stay updated on emerging artificial intelligence trends and tools relevant to procurement and recommend potential applications.

Cummins cashes in on AI boom as hyperscalers set to spend $750B on data centres

Cummins is capitalising on the AI boom by supplying backup power generators to data centres. S&P Global estimates that major tech companies including Alphabet, Amazon, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, and Oracle will collectively spend approximately $750 billion on capital expenditures in 2026, with much of it driven by AI infrastructure. During the second quarter, Cummins' Power Systems sales jumped 19% year over year, driven by strong global demand for data centre power equipment. The company is benefiting from increasing power requirements, as next-generation AI racks could reach 600 kilowatts or more, compared to traditional racks averaging around 12 kilowatts. Cummins is also expanding beyond backup power, recently announcing an agreement to provide natural gas generators for primary power at a high-performance-computing data centre in West Texas.

Caterpillar and Cummins reported record second-quarter results, driven by surging demand for power generation equipment needed for AI data centres.
